Susan Panek

President

Susan Panek is a third-year student majoring in Biological Sciences and is a part of the UIC Honors College program. She has been a member of Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) for 3+ years and it is with great pleasure and privilege that she serves as the 2018 - 2019 President of WISE - Chicago. As President, she aims to empower, educate, make aware and provide all of the organization's members with the information that they need to be successful in the STEM fields that they choose to pursue. In her free time she enjoys traveling, listening to music, spending time with her family and friends and discovering unique parts of Chicago. She is looking forward to meeting all of the new WISE - Chicago members and to continue working with all of our current members.

Sonia Alexandrescu 

Public Relations/Publicity Chair

Sonia Alexandrescu is a second-year student majoring in Neuroscience, minoring in Professional Writing, and on a Pre-Veterinary Medicine track, pursuing a career in critical/emergency veterinary care. She has been a part of WISE for two years & currently holds the Public Relations/Publicity Outreach chair. As PR/PO, Sonia makes sure to keep all of our WISE members up to date with the group by handling all WISE social media platforms, event announcements, and the website. She has previously worked as an animal caregiver at PAWS Chicago! In her spare time, Sonia loves to write, watch YouTube videos, try out new restaurants, & finding new music.

Ama Coffie

Treasurer 

Ama Coffie is a third-year student pursuing a Biological Sciences major on the Pre-Pharmacy track. She is on the WISE-Chicago board, serving as the Treasurer. Her role on the executive board is applying for funds, managing money, and hosting tea time. Apart from WISE, Ama is in a UIC choir called Unity in Christ Gospel Choir. Ama loves singing and dancing & finds that to be her happy place! 

Jennifer Moore

Internal/External Events Chair

Jennifer Moore is a 3rd-year student studying biochemistry and mathematical computer science. She has been a part of WISE for a year & is the internal/external event's chair. Jennifer takes care of planning the fun events WISE hosts! Outside of the org, she tutors at Metro & works on an on-campus research lab & in her free time enjoys writing stand up comedy!
